【摘要】:1.1Thistestmethodisusedtoevaluatetheresistanceofmedicalfacemaskstopenetrationbytheimpactofasmallvolume(~2mL)ofahighvelocitystreamofsyntheticblood.Medicalfacemaskpass/faildeterminationsarebasedonvisualdetectionofsyntheticbloodpenetration.1.2Thistestmethoddoesnotapplytoallformsorconditionsofblood-bornepathogenexposure.Usersofthetestmethodmustreviewmodesforfaceexposureandassesstheappropriatenessofthistestmethodfortheirspecificapplication.1.3Thistestmethodprimarilyaddressestheperformanceofmaterialsorcertainmaterialconstructionsusedinmedicalfacemasks.Thistestmethoddoesnotaddresstheperformanceofthemedicalfacemasksdesign,construction,orinterfacesorotherfactorswiththepotentialtoaffecttheoverallprotectionofferedbythemedicalfacemaskanditsoperation(suchasfiltrationefficiencyandpressuredrop).ProceduresformeasuringthesepropertiesarecontainedinTestMethodsF2101andMIL-M-36954C.1.4Thistestmethoddoesnotaddressbreathabilityofthemedicalfacemaskmaterialsoranyotherpropertiesaffectingtheeaseofbreathingthroughthemedicalfacemask.Thistestmethodevaluatesmedicalfacemasksasanitemofprotectiveclothing.Thistestmethoddoesnotevaluatetheperformanceofmedicalfacemasksforairborneexposurepathwaysorinthepreventionofthepenetrationofaerosolizedbodyfluidsdepositedonthemedicalfacemask.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsorinch-poundunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Thepressurevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents.However,asthecorrespondingvelocitiesarewithin1%ofeachother,(seeX1.4.2),reportingoftheresultsineitherunitsispermitted.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
