【摘要】:Providesaprocedurefortheconversionofinchandmetricsizesonengineeringdrawingswhichwillgivetheessentialaccuracyrequiredforprecisedimensionalinterchangeability.Thestandardgivesspecificguidanceontheoptimumfinenessofroundingtheconvertedsize,andrecommendsaprocedureforconversionwhichtakestheformofsimplerulescoveringsuccessivestepsintheconversion.Examplesoftheapplicationoftherulesaregivenforavarietyofcases.Tablesofconversionfrominchestomillimetres,andviceversa,areincludedinanappendixtofacilitatethework.
